My Personal Perfume Wardrobe

My “Retail” category will include posts on pretty much anything that can be bought, that is non-cloth diaper related; however, as I am a woman, will primarily be about my two main retail loves: fashion and perfume :)!!!

I would like to share my fragrance wardrobe with you, which I am quite content with, but may make some occasional substitutions/additions to.

They are listed in no particular order, except the way they are tucked into my medicine cabinet :).

Cool Water Wave by Davidoff

Notes I Smell: Fruits + SANDALWOOD

Overall Impression: Perfect for Summer or anytime, good lasting power, my ideal sandalwood (though may actually be a different wood smell, but it’s what I think of when I think of sandalwood)

Amour Indian Holi by Kenzo

Notes I Smell: Pink berries, rice steam, faint incense

Overall Impression: Perfect for Spring or anytime, good lasting power, my ideal “pink” fragrance

Kelly Caleche by Hermes

Notes I Smell: Citrus, iris, leather, honey (sometimes)

Overall Impression: Perfect for Spring or anytime, good lasting power, my ideal leather fragrance

Versace Versense

Notes I Smell: Citrus, ginger, cedar

Overall Impression: Perfect for Summer, poor lasting power, my ideal citrus fragrance

Omnia by Bvlgari

Notes I Smell: Spices, creamy warmness

Overall Impression: Perfect for Winter or cool Fall days, good lasting power, my ideal comfort scent

Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari

Notes I Smell: Jasmine (a true, slightly dirty, “green” jasmine, not sweet, just brilliant)

Overall Impression: Perfect for Spring or anytime, poor lasting power, my ideal jasmine

(As I’m lounging on my sofa, a gentle night breeze is wafting jasmine through the room.  The breeze is gentle, but the jasmine is so thick that it weighs on your lungs.  I drink it in heavily with each inhalation, savoring it, almost tasting it, and can only imagine that this can be second to nothing and this is what heaven must smell like.  But Jasmin Noir is a not so distant second.)

Euphoria by Calvin Klein

Notes I Smell: Rich pomegranate + romance (maybe some kind of musk?)

Overall Impression: Perfect for Winter or anytime, long lasting power, my ideal “sexy” fragrance

Wish by Chopard

Notes I Smell: White chocolate

Overall Impression: Perfect for Winter, long lasting power, will soon be replaced by Vera Wang’s Princess?

I do have various samples, and mini/travel sized fragrances, but there are only three worth mentioning:

Obsession by Calvin Klein

Notes I Smell: 80’s power fragrance, rich & warm

Overall Impression: Perfect for Winter, long lasting power, spray delicately (can be over sprayed)

Infusion d’Iris by Prada

Notes I Smell: Clean iris & soap

Overall Impression: Perfect for Spring or anytime, decent lasting power, my ideal iris fragrance

Jardin series by Hermes

This is a series of three:

Mediterranean is figgy and more grown up I think, with ok lasting power

Sur le Nil is citrus and green and lotus (?), and has very poor lasting power, but I love it so much!!!

Mousson is like fresh, juicy cantaloupe melon, and has ok lasting power too

Elle by Yves St. Laurent

Notes I Smell: Woods

Overall Impression: Perfect for Spring or anytime, long lasting power, lovely for the office but I only have a travel size right now 😦

I’ll post others soon – that I love but don’t have, that I want to sniff test (ooh, that’s a radiography term too, I can discuss both in one post!), or that I absolutely can’t stand… Be sure to stay tuned!!!
